Inclusion Mentoring Programme

Every student on the Special Educational Needs register is allocated a mentor. These mentoring sessions take place weekly and aim to develop strategies for teachers. The mentors work with the students to identify areas they are struggling with and look for solutions to overcome barriers. The session also allow for success to be celebrated.

Parents will also receive monthly communication from the mentors to update them on how their students are doing.

“My child told me what subjects he finds difficult and we have had a discussion about what myself and a teacher can do to support him and what he can do to improve his work. We had a discussion about his handwriting and from there we have started fine motor skills and handwriting sessions once a week which has had a huge improvement on his confidence”
