Technology and Enterprise Open Evening

The focus of learning in Technology and Enterprise allows students to explore their creativity and technical skills through a range of material areas.  The Technology and Enterprise curriculum has been created to ensure students learn for a purpose not just for exams.  In an ever changing technological world it will help students be thoughtful, responsible and more informed members of a local, national and international community The curriculum will support students in all Design and Technology elements for theory and practical skills; focuses on design work, drawing skills, sustainability, CAD, materials and analysis of products.

Within Food Preparation and Nutrition, students are taught the importance of healthy eating and the principles of nutrition.  Making a range of predominately-savoury dishes, pupils are encouraged to explore flavours and textures whilst learning a variety of cooking techniques to aid them throughout life

The curriculum will support students in Computer Science and ICT – focuses on ensuring students become digital citizens.

The 5 year curriculum model supports students throughout their journey in school and in many different career and option routes.  We use recall and interleave topics across our subject disciplines to encourage student progress and subject outcomes. We have sequenced our curriculum in such a way that student build up their learning over time.

Our intent is to ensure students are prepared for the next stages of their lives and have the knowledge and materials to make informed decisions about their futures and their careers.  We look at the locale, teach content to support exam learning and to support their cultural capital and offer extra-curricular opportunities to encourage and support where we can.  We want students to make progress and learn.
