World Affairs Open Evening

Welcome to the World Affairs Faculty.  In this video you will meet our team of teachers and get to see some of our students’ experience of learning in CPE, Geography and History.

CPE stands for Citizenship, Philosophy and Ethics. In CPE, we cover topics such as Christianity, Inspirational People, Rites of Passage and Making Moral Decisions in our Year 7 curriculum. Year 8 moves into an exploration of British and International politics as well as an in-depth study of Judaism. Year 9 focuses on ethical issues such as abortion and euthanasia.

Geography at KS3 explores both the United Kingdom and Wider World. We will develop students’ sense of scale, place, interconnection, change and environment through topics such as Our Physical World, Weather & Climate in the UK, Unequal World, Challenges and Opportunities in the UK and Global Issues.

History is a skills based curriculum and we focus on British and the wider world History. In Y7 students study Medicine through Time, the Medieval World and the Tudors & Stuarts. We encourage students to reach judgements by analysing and evaluating a wide range of materials. We look forward to working with you in History!
