Chick Watch 2025!

In the spirit of Easter, Chick Watch returned to High Tunstall!

The eggs were delivered on Monday 31st March and the Discovery faculty were so excited to nurture the chicks through their hatching journey.

Students were asked to name the chicks and the first to be born were: Abrahen Chicken, Deliha and KJ!

Sydney then joined us overnight, what a lovely surprise to come into College to!

The Discovery Faculty sent us egg-citing updates on the chicks which we posted to social media to keep students and their parents/carers updated.

With a little help from KJ and Deliha, chick number 5 and 6 Shelly and George hatched on the 3rd April.

All the chicks were moved to their brooder, and got to meet the children of staff members, who were very excited. Miss Fenny then kindly looked after the chicks over the weekend, who said that the chicks loved to sleep, eat and flap their newly formed wings!

Thank you to all the students for their kindness in helping look after the chicks and cleaning their brooder box.

A special thank you to Olivia K in Year 10 for keeping us updated with lots of pictures of the chicks!
