Admissions

Whilst the Governing Body of High Tunstall College of Science is the admissions authority for this school, the Governing Body commissions Hartlepool Borough Council to undertake the administration of the admissions on its behalf.

The school’s admissions policies can be found below.  For further information and definitions please refer to the ‘Education in Hartlepool’ booklet which are available here.

Throughout the year we receive requests for pupils to join High Tunstall College of Science in different year groups.  All such transfers are dealt with by the Local Authority and the Headteacher.  Decisions concerning transfers depend upon the number of pupils already on roll in the requested year group.  Due to increasing pressure on numbers, places are not guaranteed if the year group is already full.
