Our Actions

Applying to be a Leader

As part of joining the Leadership Academy, all students must complete an application/enrolment form. They must have a particular Leadership Role in mind to join the academy as it is not only learning about Leadership but also practically applying what is being learned that is as equally as important. Once all applicants have been chosen in particular areas, the staff leads for these should then pass on all successful applications to the AHT: Personal Development who will store these securely.

The Portfolio of Your Actions

As part of the leadership Academy, students will graduate at key points where their achievements can be celebrated. In order to support this graduation process there is an appropriate level of evidencing that students must do in order to graduate. The level of evidence is appropriate to the level of graduation. The evidencing for each graduate level can be seen as follows:

BRONZE – Evidence as to how they have developed their own leadership using the leadership criteria.

SILVER – Evidence as to how they have developed their own leadership and the leadership of others, using the leadership criteria.

GOLD – Completed a portfolio as to how they have led a community through positive change, using the leadership criteria

Recognition

For being part of the High Tunstall Leadership Academy, students will be recognised in a number of ways.

Firstly, for recognition over the 5 years, once in a leadership post, students will be provided with a badge relevant to that area to recognise their role.  Secondly, once in a post, students will also receive a Leadership Academy pen and portfolio to support their evidencing of work over time.  Finally, once students star to complete their Leadership Portfolio, they will be invited to complete recognition levels as mentioned previously. Once they have passed, students will receive a Gold, Silver or Bronze badge and certificate, dependent on which stage they have passed.
