Careers Carousel 2025!
On Thursday 6th February, High Tunstall College of Science proudly hosted a Careers Workshop Day, bringing together 30 professionals from various industries to engage with our Year 10 and Year 11 students. This event aimed to provide students with valuable insights into potential careers paths and skills required to succeed in the workplace.
Throughout the day students had the opportunity to visit four sessions that they had an interest in, each of the sessions were led by an industry expert. These sessions covered a wide range of fields, including technology, healthcare, engineering, finance and the arts. The professionals shared their personal career journeys, offered advice and answered any of the students’ questions, creating an interactive and informative experience.
The annual Careers Workshop Day is designed to inspire and motivate our students, helping them to make informed decisions about their future education and careers options. By exposing students to a variety of professions and real-world experiences, we aim to equip students with the knowledge and confidence to pursue their aspirations.
Following the event during the school day we invited parents and students to attend a more traditional careers fair. This provided an excellent opportunity for parents and students to speak directly with colleges and employers. Parents and students also had the opportunity to learn about apprenticeships and university life, gaining a comprehensive understanding of varies pathways after school.
Feedback from both students and speakers was overwhelmingly positive. Many students expressed their appreciation for the opportunity to learn directly from industry leaders, whilst the speakers commented on the students’ enthusiasm and curiosity.
We would like this opportunity to again thank all the professionals who generously shared their time and expertise.
